It’s another one of those bucket list things to experience as a photographer and be able to photograph one of the wonders of nature. So, not being one to pass up on the opportunity, I was very excited to head into the darkness in search of the aurora.
If you have ever looked out of the window when riding a Piccadilly line tube train in London between Green Park and Hyde Park Corner, you may have caught a glimpse of what looks like a brick wall with a metal grille door. This is actually an access point to the long abandoned tube station at Down Street in Mayfair.
Being in the planning for well over 12 months, expectations were high for this trip around the North coast of Scotland. It’s the first time we had visited the most northerly parts of the country so had spent a lot of time planning our route, stop overs and places to see.

Back in June last year, I finally got to visit South Stack lighthouse on our summer trip to Anglesey, and I wasn’t disappointed. I’ve been trying to get over to photograph this iconic landmark for quite a while but for one reason or another, it never seemed to happen.
I’ve been wanting to get some long exposure photos of the piers at Blackpool for some time but for one reason or another the timing or tide times haven’t worked, but last weekend I had an early start and headed to the coast.
After years of being on my hit list, I finally made it to Ladybower reservoir in the Peak District last week to see the famous “plugholes” in full flow, following the recent bout of wet weather.
One of the places I have been trying to schedule a trip to for a while is The View from The Shard. Located on the south side of London Bridge, the observation floors of The Shard offer some spectacular views across London, and on a recent visit I managed to make time to go for sunset.
